The Funky Budda Brewery – Oakland Park, FL

Opened in 2010, this huge and popular family-friendly brewery has a unique selection of tasty snacks coming out of the kitchen and nearly two-dozen Year-Round and Limited Release beers. We snacked on the Maple-Coffee Candied Bacon washing it down with the Eternal Summer and Strawberry Blonde ales, the 42 Truths pale ale, the Jaco pilsner and the Fuhgeddaboudit red ale. Except for the uncontrolled kids terrorizing the place, we enjoyed everything!

Odd Breed Wild Ales – Pompano Beach, FL

Odd is right! This brewery specializes in sours which we are not big fans of. This place truely is a microbrewery with their operations and tasting room housed in a 1,000 SF strip mall space in downtown Pompano. Offering only 5 house brews (2 of which were out), we played it safe and went with their Biere d’ Avril which was just as we expected – SOUR!

Barrel of Monks Brewing – Boca Raton, FL

Steam punk meets vintage swank. Decorated with industrial tool tables, wood barrels, riveted leather furniture and old chandeliers, this cool place serves up about a dozen tasty Belgium-style beers. We drank the Single in the Sun ale and the Toccata amber ale on this rainy Saturday afternoon.

Holy Mackeral Small Batch Beers – Pompano Beach, FL

Our 3rd stop on this rainy Sunday afternoon and the other brewery acrossed the street, this places offers an eclectic selection of beers ranging from dark stouts to wildly fruity ales. A friendly barkeep and knowledgable owner provided us some great insight and advice on which beers to experiment with.  We got outside of our box and tried the Butt Cheeks golden ale and the Tiger’s Blood french farmhouse ale. Wow – cucumbers, watermelon, Serrano pepppers, strawberries and coconut all incorporated into beer! Very unique beers.

Bangin’ Banjo Brewing – Pompano Beach, FL

Stop #2 for the day brought us to the industrial area of town where there are two breweries acrossed the street from each other. Decorated with vintage craft beer bottles and of course banjo’s, we drank the Cypress Creek cream ale and the Odin’s Revenge Belgian Red pale ale. While the cream ale provided the tasting experience we would expect, with the Odin’s Revenge we were on uncharted territory. What exactly is a Belgian red, pale ale? Now we know! Near near neeear neeear neeear neeear neeear neeear neeeear!

26° Brewing – Pompano Beach, FL

Large tasting room sporting a rustic and vibrant vibe that offers a nice variety of beers. Serving 15 different beers today, we enjoyed a pint of the Tri-County Common lager and the Celtic Red irish red while adoring all of the Labrador Retrievers visting for a fund raiser.

The Tank Brewing – Miami, FL

Our fourth and last stop of the day, this place comes highly recommended by local craft beer fans in the area. Arriving in the parking lot, we were a little disappointed to see signs posted saying “no pets, no outside food”. What kind of tasting room doesn’t allow dogs or pretzles stashed away in ones purse? Something that’s not a tasting room! Housing the Twisted Fork Kitchen, this place offers up a traditional “unique grub” menu ranging from pork belly to duck wings with the brewery complimenting with a dozen or so decent beers. We ennoyed the Freedom Tower american amber ale and the Dry-Hopped pilsner.

MIA Beer Co. – Miami, Fl

Um, where do I start.

1) not a tasting room

2) lots, I mean LOTS of beers (nearly 4 dozen to be exact – see pic below)

3) large food selection

4) did I mention NOT a tasting room?

Ok, so this wasn’t what we were hoping for on our 3rd stop of the day. We thought we were on a roll to hit just tasting rooms but it turns out this place is a restaurant (a.k.a., MIA Beer Co. Grill) that produces a high volume of beer. We drank the 305 golden ale and the Domino pils – both were pretty decent.

Biscayne Bay Brewing – Doral, FL

Located acrossed the street from the project location that Tim is working on, this tasting room is unique in its nautical yet rustic decor that features a huge, hickory, live-edge bartop and tables. Serving up a delicious variety of both beer and snacks, we indulged in the Nautical Pretzel washing it down with a cool crisp Kapiyan’s Kolsch and a malty Biscayne Bay Amber Ale. A perfect combination for the 2nd stop on today’s tour.

Lincoln’s Beard Brewing – Miami, FL

‎Get Weird at the Beard! What a way to start the day. This place has everything you would want at a true tasting room. Cool vibe, outdoor area, food truck, live music and dog friendly. Serving up a dozen or so beers along with a few wines, we thoroughly enjoyed the Lincoln’s Best sparkling ale and the Avenge Me red ale. The friendly and knowledgable bar tender offered some good insight on Sour’s that have us reconsidering our opinions of the sometime sweet & tart brews. We would definitely come back when we are in the area.
