Blackadder Brewing – Gainesville, FL

Tucked in the back of a strip mall, this medieval-barvarian theme tasting room not only offered a dozen of their own brews but also two dozen guest beers. We tried the We Give Thanks pale ale and The Pink Rider saison but unfortunately weren’t impressed. They both tasted watered-down and didn’t have a lot of flavor.

Swamp Head Brewery – Gainesville, FL

Well, it’s game on! The 1st stop of our 2021 summer NASCAR tour brings us to this fine establishment off the beaten path and down by a swamp, hence the name. This well-established brewery is undergoing a renovation so we had to sit outside at a picnic table but on this beautiful afternoon, it worked out perfect! We kicked things off with the Wild Night honey cream ale and the Morning Glow vanilla coffee blonde ale served straight from the makeshift 20′ shipping container in the parking lot.

Alafia Brewing – Gibsonton, FL

This is our first post in a while. We “googled” breweries on this Saturday afternoon only to find this one just openes a month or so ago. We were surprised by the location but found it to be a really nice place in sort of a crappy strip mall. Its a real hidden gem! Two dozen beers – all of which looked awesome. We tried the Pilsner and the Cream ale which were so good we stuck around and had a 2nd round of Blonde and Vienna Lager. We got a tour of the brewing operations by the friendly co-founder Mary as well as a history lesson about Gibsonton and the breweries origin from the other co-founder Dan. We can’t wait to come back here when they open up the outside “family carnival area” and are even considering joining the Founders Club.

Ghost Isle Brewery – New Buffalo, MI

So we unexpectedly stopped at this brewery on the way to our favorite burger joint called Redamaks. This is the newest brewery in the region and pretty much follows the current rustic-industrial trend of tasting rooms. They are serving up 9 or so house beers so we tried the New Buffalo Pilsner and the Marzen Vaders. Both beers were low IBU and were pretty tasty but the Marzen lacked a little malty-ness that one would expect from a German style beer especially during Oktoberfest.

Bootleggers Brewing – Brandon, FL

What a better time to stop at a brewery than during Oktoberfest. This place is serving up a whole host for German-inspired beers which is exactly what we love. We sat outside under the tent in the Bier Garden and enjoyed the Pinstripe Pilsner and the Oktoberfest Marzen.

Darwin Brewing – Bradenton, FL

Another milestone reached! This is not only our last brewery of the day but also number 350! What better way to celebrate this milestone than with our good friends Brian and Melissa. We really enjoyed the Summeradayze FL West Coast IPA, Siesta Key Lager and the Marron brown ale. A shout out and thanks to the beer-tender for taking our pit!

Naughty Monk Brewery – Lakewood Ranch, FL

Our 2nd stop of the day brought us to the other brewery in LWR. This place has nearly two dozen beers on draight. This time, we each tried a different beer: Reel Naughty American IPA, Lakewood Ranch Lager, Naughty Blonde Belgian Blonde, Naughty Red Irish red ale and the Life’s A Peach wheat. All were EXCELLENT!

3 Car Garage Brewing – Lakewood Ranch, FL

The name of this brewery was reminiscent of our 3 Car Bar back when we lived in Ruskin. We started this Saturday afternoon tour with our friends Brian, Melissa and Christy with the intent to visit 2 or 3 breweries. We drank the Blue Skadoo blueberry Kolsch, the Three Amigos Mexican lager and the 2 Pops Pilsner. Let’s see how this goes!

Bullfrog Creek Brewing – Valrico, FL

This off-the-beaten-path brewery offers up a dozen & a half tasty beers along with a large outdoor area but today is way too hot to do anything outside so we sat comfortably in the AC and drank The Diddy German pils and a Froggen And Rollin farmhouse ale. We followed up with a lobster roll & parmesan garlic fries and of course a 2nd round of beers this time trying the 10 Rings Pilsner. AWESOME! And our friend Tom said he hates this place?
