Ook-a-pow Brewing – West Palm Beach, FL

Another true tasting room. The front of the bar is drinking and the back of the bar is brewing! Great seletion and good people serving it up. We had the Cream Ale and the Milk Shake brown ale which were awesome. Low keyed, low budget brewery keeping it simple. They even use pieces of cardboard for costers!

Invasive Species Brewing – Fort Lauderdale, FL

Our first brewery of the new year! Open for only 6 months and located in an industry area of town, this brewery has a real tasting room just steps from the brewing operations. We arrived right at opening and they were still wrapping up the days production operations. We surprisingly enjoyed the Warehouse saison and the Thai Lawnmower saison since we both aren’t big fans of those breeds of beers.

Khoffner Brewery – Fort Lauderdale, FL

A German beer themed tasting room, we had the Dunkel Oktoberfest and Nitro Cream Ale. Sinful Sandwich food truck was parked outside tempting us to try the catfish po’ boy. The beer was great but we were disappointed in the sandwich. They also had a wide variety of no name cigars and delicious unique snacks – the Bloody Mary peanuts were the bomb!

Bootleggers Brewing – Brandon, FL

Starting out as a home-brew retail store, this small batch brewery make some awesome beers! Serving up 10 house brews and another 10 visitor beers, we had the MIA Amberghini, Vienna Vixen  and several of the Dumbass ales & MIA Amberghini’s. We even took home a growler of the Dumbass. Friendly staff and a delicious food truck tops it off and the brewmaster Sean even gave us a tour of the brewing room. A must visit if you are in the Brandon area.

LauderAle Brewery – Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Located next to the FPL power station by Port Everglades, this industrial-themed brewery is no frills but great beer. On the day we visited, they were holding a Great Dane Adoption event that made the whole experience that much better! With the company of our new-founded furry friends, we drank the KRS-One and the Gulfstream Cream.

Hollywood Brewing – Hollywood, FL

Located on the scenic and popular Hollywood Broad Walk (yes, not a miss spelling but actually called Broad Walk). We drank the Fresh Hop Pilsner and the Locals Only Lager both are very similar just a few ABV and IBU apart. Great views of the Atlantic ocean and everything else you would expect at the beach!

Homestead-Miami Speedway

The season finale to our 12 race tour (13 if you count the All-Star race) did not disappoint. This was only one of a couple race weekends that included all three series with the Camping World trucks running Friday night, the Xfinity on Saturday and the Monster Energy wrapping up the season on Sunday. We camped just outside the track and enjoyed nonstop action with free concerts, plenty of beer and good times with new friends and old. With our new home being just minutes away in Ft. Lauderdale, we are sure to be back next year!

Hidden Springs Aleworks – Tampa, FL

Our first impression of this tasting room is Steampunk. Decorated with 19th century industrial tools and equipment, there is also  abstract artwork for sale and of course an unusual spin with a giant flami go. We drank cold pints of their pilsner and Kolsch which were brewed on site.
