Persimmon Hollow Brewing, Port Orange, FL

I had a serious case of deja vu on our way here and when we walked into this place only to find out it was formally the Tomoko Brewing Co. that we visit last time we came to the Daytona 500 back in 2018 with our good friends, Brian & Melissa. This time though, its just us on our 1st stop of a mini tour to grab some lunch and try their beers. We ordered a couple of pints of their Daytona Dirty Blonde and Hollowtoberfest which were fantastic.

Cage Brewing – St Pete, FL

Oops – forgot to take a pic before we drank but you get the idea. This brewery has about a dozen beers, live music, food truck and a large outdoor area for adults to play and dogs to run. We drank an Eric’s Epic IPA & a King Krush DIPA and snacked on the vegan empanada and parmesan fries. The Rapture steak sandwich was the finale and was delicious.

Pinellas Ale Works – St Pete, FL

This self-proclaimed award-winning brewery has over three dozen beers on tap and a unique variety of flavored pretzels. We had a flight of Puppy Breath hazy IPA, Puppy Love NEIPA, Fetch session IPA and Doberman brown ale and snacked on a couple of bags of Italian and Hot Wings pretzels. If you haven’t alread figured it out, this brewery is all about dogs!

If I Brewed The World Brewery – St Pete, FL

This is our first new brewery in about 2 months. We just came from the local BMW dealer where we placed an order for a 2023 Z4 and figured we’d stop for a flight. This place is a block from another brewery we visited last March called 3 Daughters and is much different than this place. Here, its a laid back atmosphere typical of a small tasting room with cool music and odd decor. We tried the Link Proper english pale ale, Gods Waiting Room IPA, Butter Beer brown ale and Hazy Bois IPA. All of the beer were phenomenal which explains all the beer medals hanging on the wall. After talking with the beertender a while, he gave us kicker of the Beery Crunch wheat which tasted exactly like Captain Crunch cerial!

Three Bulls Brewery – Valrico, FL

We are doing something today that we’ve never done before: we are each getting our own flight. Yes, we usually split one but today we are going to taste 8 beers instead of the normal 4 or 5. This is in part because they have so many beers that sound good and one of us is recovering from the ‘rona. We will let the picture speak for itself but all the beers were awesome. Good thing this place is only minutes from home!

Prison Pals Brewing – Fort Lauderdale, FL

We stopped at a brewery before coming here that we used to visit quite often when we lived in Pompono called Gulf Coast Brewery. They were having a 4 year anniversary celebration with live music and plenty of madness. This brewery is much more mellow with outdoor seating, a full kitchen, taco tent and a dozen great beers to choose from. We drank a Herzlich festbier, Sunshine Promise german pils and a Golden Cage west coast IPA along with a couple of taco’s and empanada’s. Everthing was awesome.

Mack House Brew Pub – Davie, FL

We were a little reluctant with name brew pub but were delighted to find this place is an actual brewery. They make their beer in the back room of this strip-mall tap room but don’t let that fool you: this is the real deal. We ordered a Bowling Ally blonde ale and a Bill & Red’s excellent ale but the beertending screwed up and poured a Johnny Brewtah IPA so we got three beers for the price of two. All three beers were outstanding and we liked the blonde and red so much, we even got a couple of crowlers. For those of you that are Keano Reeves fans, do you know which ones are named after him?

Halpatter Brewing – Lake City, FL

What a great day for some day drinking. After another four hour drive, we landed here and found they were having a craft beer festival right acrossed the street (Gateway City Beer & Wine Festival). This place is packed with craft beer enthusists winding down the their day with one at the local brewery. We jumped right in and ordered up a Salted Carmel brown ale and a 2019 award winning O’leno cream ale. Both beers were awesome!

Props Craft Brewery – Niceville, FL

What a “nice” surprise! We drove past this place twice on our way to other breweries and didn’t realize it was a brewery. It was showing up on Map as an “ale house” which usually mean they have everyone else’s beer on tap. Boy did Google get it wrong! This place has over a dozen brews made offsite and served up right here in this fine tap room. We had their Four Kings brown ale and a Pumpkin Blonde Ale with a cinnamon sugar rim. Wow! Tastes like a pumpkin pie beer!

Bayou Brewing – Niceville, FL

This place is much, much, much better than the last brewery: no kids playground! This quaint little tap room brews offsite and bring their tasty beers in for consumption on a small outdoor patio with a food truck. We relaxed with a Kolsch and Mid-Bay IPA.
