Six Ten Brewing – Tampa, FL

The drive was worth it! The 2nd stop (technically 3rd but we’ll get to that in a minute) on our goal of 500 breweries by May 1st brings us to this awesome brewery just north of the airport. The five of us got a little adventurous and all tried something different. Pints of Butterfinger Berlinerweisse, Shameless Blonde Ale, House Bitter ESB and Nektar Punk Lemonade cider wet down the infield but the temptation of candy bars and whiskey were too much. We also ordered up 4 ounzers of the Salted Caramel Nut Roll white stout and the Funky Whiskey Porter. The Nut Roll and ESB were so good, we got a crowler of each to take home. So back to the stop before, it was actually a dog park that served craft beer – cool concept so we will have to come back with our dogs and a serious thirst!

Bastet Brewing – Tampa, FL

Named after a feline goodess of Egypt, this Egyptian-themed tasting room is located on the outskirts of the famous Ybor city part of town. Joined by the “Thirsty Three”, we started off our day-drinking Saturday with a round of the Luxor Blonde and Apep Pils which were a great way to start the afternoon.

BarrieHaus Brewing – Ybor City, FL

Now this is more like it. After the last brewery, it’s nice to be in a real tap room. This place serves up a great menu of german-inspired beers that is right in our wheel-house. Lagers, pilsners, dunkels and a couple of IPA’s that fit into our drinking style. We had trouble choosing but ultimately went with The Dark munich lager and a Big Pluckin’ pils which were freakin’ awesome!

Magnanimous Brewing – Tampa, FL

Back in 2016 when we started our brewery tour, tasting rooms were the only place you could get craft beers from the onsite breweries. They were usually small, quaint, even sort of quite places where true beer lovers could sit and enjoy some delicious beers. This place is anything but that. It’s more like club with loud, echoing, thumping, wordless music that you would expect in a hip club at 2:00am. It smelled like garlic, not beer. What a disappointment from a highly- recommended brewery. Even the beer wasn’t our style with mainly IPA’s, “collaborations”, and only a couple of beers we actually thought were worth trying. We settled for the Crown light lager and Golden Rule european-style lager which were surprizingly good. We shut out our surroundings, snacked on some truffle parm fries and enjoyed the only decent thing in this “tap room”.

Woven Water Brewing – Tampa, FL

Parking sucks but the beer is tasty! We got the only two seats remaining at the bar and ordered up the Anomaly light lager and the Outlier dark czech lager. Black is their theme here with a splash of gold and greenery.

Southern Brewing – Tampa, FL

The last stop on this blustery afternoon brings us to a brwery offering up 33 beers ranging from light lagers to malty & dark. We could have drank anything on their menu as they all sounded good but we settled on Koenig Hans german pils and the Funky Kolsh Medina. Both were a nice ending to a long-overdue afternoon of “day drinking”.

7venth Sun Brewery – Tampa, FL

Not on our list for today but highly recommded by the beertender at the last brewery. Upon arrival, we found the menu much like the last place but we managed to find a couple of beers within our liking. We drank the Intergalactic Pale Ale and the Round Corners lager.

Angry Chair Brewing – Tampa, FL

So whats up Tampa?!?! This tap room is the 3rd brewery on our list today only to find the first two really aren’t breweries at all. They don’t brew their own beer – only serve guest taps. We finally found this place that does thank god because we drove around over an hour and worked up quite the thirst. Known for their high-octane, desert/dark beers, we found a couple of lighter options to quench our thirst. We startes the afternoon off with a Short Notice pale ale and a Full Circle light lager.
