Nothing swampy about this place! Out of all the breweries we’ve visited and drank their honey blondes, this place hands down has the best. The Honey Blonde is the most “honey-ist” we have ever taste. We also think their French Toast amber ale tastes the most like well, french toast only missing the maple syrup. The Wild Duck IPA and Bullfrog Stout on nitro were nothing to scoff at as well.

Earnie don’t mess when it comes to beer. This fine brewery offers 18 real beers and not any of that other stuff like sours or seltzers. So many choices – so little seating on this flight. So we filled first class with an Easy golden ale, New Sincerity west coast IPA, Honeybuzz dbl IPA, Oktoberfest german lager, Crunchy Hippie granola brown ale and Hoopy Camper hazy pale ale. We picked the last on for its name – camper.

Go big or go home. It’s hard believe it took us 5 years to reach 500 breweries but a little less than 3 months to do a hundred more to reach 600. Yes, another milestone achieved! It’s also hard to believe this brewery doesn’t have something named, wait for it……….. Funky Cold Medina! Regardless. we celebrated our big milestone with a heavy flight of Exchange Market vienna lager, Dark Knight russian imperial stout, Tropic Paradise NEDIPA and Citra Trails NEDIPA. All awesome beers but we quickly realized that our friendly beertender gave us the imperial stout instead of the imperial IPA so she hooked us up with “sidecar” of the CTZ. Wow. Dare we try to hit 700 before heading back to Florida in October?

This place is nuts. You would think its the only brewery in town with all the people crowded into this little tap room. Either they have great beer or great pizza. Not sure if this is a brewery or a pizza joint with the amount of to-go pizzas this place is handing out. We fought our way to the bar and ordered a flight of Barnburner lager, Bed Head Red irish red, Helles Yeah helles lager, Prizm hazy juicy IPA and Abbeyville Trippel belgium trippel. Our two favorites were the red and IPA.

Check ya self before you wreck ya self! We always get excited when we see white stouts on the menu of when breweries have something on nitro but today we hit the jackpot with the Better Than Doug white stout on nitro. Yum! We rounded out our five beer flight with a Copper Penny cream ale, Controlled Get Together pale ale, Cricket Stomper ESB and a Pants Off Dance Off IPA. The Pants was good but the nitro was the best.

Think of this brewery as a Chuck E. Cheese’s for adults. Go cart racing, video games, mini bowling and live music are a few of the things you can do while enjoying over three dozen beers on draft. The problem is they are all guest taps except for 3 so we ordered their Lager, Red Ale and IPA along with a guest tap Saucy Brew Works milkshake IPA. All the beers were a nice ending to a long day.

So this is the last stop on our New York mini tour and we were hoping for some sort of grand finale but unfortunately, we are a bit disappointed. After stopping for some wings at the world-famous birthplace of the wing, Anchor Bar, we expected to find another rockin’ brewery offer all kinds of great beers but instead, found something posing as a brewery. Although they had an extensive offering at first glance of their memu, we quickly discovered of the 24 listings, 13 were fruited sours, one was a seltzer and 5 were cans-only leaving 5 draft beers to choose from. The beertender got a little offened when were told her sours weren’t beer after she said their sours tasted like smoothies. WTF? Since when is “brewing” a smoothies a craft beer? I thing the industry is getting a little off track trying to offer something for everyone. If your don’t like craft beer, go to a bar and order a wine cooler! Regardless, we drank the Terp Sauce triple IPA, Frothsty Birthday Cake desert sour, Juice Life hazy IPA and Pastry Works coffee & peanutbutter stout. The IPA’s and stout were pretty good but the sour was, well, not beer.

This is another one of those breweries that has the best of both worlds – great craft beer served in a neighborhood corner bar. The last time we were in a place like this was back in Milwaukee. Buzzing with locals chatting and the door contantly swinging with friendly people coming & going, we were parched from the long drive back over the boarder and line at Customs. The Haggen NYS lager and the Strummer belgian blonde were good but the Sticky Icky american IPA and Hydroelectric Lettuce hazy IPA were outstanding. You must visit this brewery if you afe ever in Buffalo.

You can’t be this close to Canada and not make a run for the border so after a brief stop to look at the Falls on the Canadien side, we took a jog out here to quench our thrist. Its a perfect day for some international craft beer consisting of a flight of Back Alley black lager, River King Chinook cream ale, Screaming Tunnels amber ale and Erie Surfer wesy coast IPA. They make it just as good up north here as they do back home in the good ol’ USA.
